1957 Corvette with body-off restoration that was less than ten years ago. Always garaged and covered. Built as an old-school style hotrod with a more modern and powerful stroked and balanced 383 small engine block w/roller rockers and a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Possitraction 3.73:1 rear differential rear axle with traction bars. GM HEI ignition system. Sandon headers with 2 1/2" custom exhaust that features tucked away rear exit turn downs just before rear valance panel (with dummy original tail pipes) to give a throaty sound that seems like it's coming from the original chrome rear exit pipes. Nicely restored rust-free chassis features safety dual reservoir tandem master cylinder and front disk brakes. The interior is from Al Knoch. The seats are brand new, just restored including new springs, steel supports, foams, burlap, cotton batting and covers. They feel wonderful with no uncomfortable springs hitting you in the back or bottom like most just covered seats with old original insides. I sourced a new padded 14" steering wheel and sent it to Al Knoch which was trimmed in new Shorline Beige leather to match the interior scheme. I will include a NOS original 16" steering wheel with the car as a package deal. The body was stripped and painted in base/clear products. All panel gaps are very good. Car includes a factory auxiliary hardtop (but no soft top or frame). Wheels are standard 15" featuring poverty (dog dish) hubcaps for that understated "fuelie" look. All instruments were rebuilt which include an electronic tachometer conversion that works perfect. Gas gauge fluctuates which is somewhat typical. Car has fuel injection emblems and will be the perfect candidate for your choice of modern fuel injection is you choose to upgrade further. Presently, there is a 750 Holley carburetor that is working just fine for this application. This '57 'Vette will run on premium non ethanol pump gas, but I add some Sunoco racing gas for extra punch and nostalgia (the smell). The modern Tremec 5-Speed (which has overdrive 5th gear) allows for relaxed highway cruising which you normally could not do with these C1 Corvettes unless you had the optional 3.07:1 highway gears in the differential. This car will cruise comfortably at 80 mph...and the front disk brakes will ensure safe reliable deceleration at the higher speeds. This is a very fun car. It shakes the ground and has a wild idle like you would expect this type of car to do. I would cost in excess of $100k to reproduce this car with today's restoration shop pricing.
