This car has 85,400 ORIGINAL MILES,400 since the restoration was completed; it runs great. It has factory AC, PS and AM-FM radio. All numbers, including alternator, regulator, et al, match. This is virtually a TWO-OWNER car. A friend bought it in 1967 and owned it until 2009 when I bought it from him. At that point a 3-year body-off restoration was begun.
The car was mostly original when I got it and it has been restored, almost totally, to AS-ORIGINAL (see below). Many of the original were used. Those that weren't rebuilt were replaced with purchased-original parts or correct reproduction parts. The head-markings on all the bolts are correct. Most bought- items came from Long Island Corvette with others coming from mainly Corvette World (PA) and Paragon. All bolts, nuts, etc. that were re-used were cleaned and and given a protective coating. I will give some of the parts that were not re-installed to the new owner.
The paint was chemically removed and then the original gel-coat was soda blasted. The underside was cleaned with solvents and Scotch Brite Pads. After the chips and cracks (no body damage) were repaired , the body was gel-coated, primed and painted in its original Milano Maroon color. The door jambs and the engine compartment lip were painted non-glossy to emulate the factory look. The original bumpers were re-chromed and the original steel wheels were powder-coated. Sound deadener has been applied to the inside of the car.
I have documentation going back to November of 1967, an original protecto-plate and service booklet (but not the ones for this car), the original owner’s manual, and all receipts of the restoration; all of which go with this Corvette. I also have over 1,000 photos of the restoration. I will be glad to send a CD to anyone seriously considering buying this beautiful Corvette.
Non- original items: the leather seat covers (the seats and the mechanisms are original). They came with the car, they look great and I like them better than the correct vinyl covers; the windshield (came with car) and the radiator. I have the original radiator and it was working fine when removed.
