The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of refinements made it the best of the line. Consequently, the 1967 Corvette is the most prized and sought after by mid-year enthusiasts and collectors. Many Corvette aficionados consider the 1967 Stingray to be the ultimate classic Corvette.
The Marina Blue with Black interior and White Soft Top 327ci/300hp 4-Speed roadster being offered for sale here by the 3rd owner is a highly original Corvette in excellent condition. This is a no-hit body car, with its original drive train and a solid un-restored frame and chassis. The car is optioned with power brakes. The GM side exhaust have been added and sound absolutely awesome. The car, with 78,062 miles on the odometer, looks great and runs strong. This is not a trailer queen. It’s a “turn key” Corvette to be driven and thoroughly enjoyed. Taking the car on the road, with the top down, and running it thru the gears is where the enjoyment lies. This is a Corvette which performs incredibly well on the road and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The car’s 4 new redline radials definitely enhance the car’s handling.
The car’s exterior finish and chrome work are very good. The car was repainted a while ago in base coat/ clear coat and the paint looks very good. The car has 3 small touch ups, which do not detract from the car’s overall appearance. The car stands nicely, with all the body panels lining up properly. The gaps between head light doors and the front wrap around, hood and fenders and cowl, and doors and fenders are typical factory production.
The car’s interior is original and in good condition. The seats, dash pad, and door panels present nicely. The front carpet is a replacement and in excellent condition.
The engine area presents as factory original. The engine block # is 3892657 with a casting date of J216 or October 21, 1966. The assembly stamping is V0309HE or Flint March 9, 1967 327ci/300hp manual transmission. The car currently has an aluminum intake manifold and valve covers; however, the owner has the original cast iron intake manifold # 3872783 with a casting date of B97 or February 9, 1967 and the original stamped steel valve covers. These original components go with the car. The carburetor is a new correct service replacement Holley. The radiator is a new $900.00 correctly date coded DeWitt’s Harrison aluminum. The transmission is the original Muncie 4-Speed date coded P7C08 or March 8, 1967, with a brand new clutch. The rear coded AM3767 has 3.36 gears and is dated March 7, 1967.
The car’s underbody is un-restored and in good condition. The frame is rust free, solid, and shows no sign of damage. This is a Corvette which clearly has been driven responsibly, garaged, and well maintained.
