| This car was purchased from a man that my dad had worked with in West Virginia. Warren is BIG TIME into cars, as he has since owned an M3, built Civic, and many other high performance vehicles; in short, he's loaded and puts his money to good use. He was building this car as an incentive for his son to do good in school. Warren bought and built this car from the ground up, and it was done by the time of his son's graduation. He went to the extent of taking the car to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to get the car dialed in. Well, Warren's son did well, but instead of taking the Vette, he opted for his dad's new 4x4 truck. Personally, I would have strangled the kid, but Warren is a good guy, so he kept the Vette until his wife got mad because it was "taking up space". Warren didn't want to sell the car to just anyone, because he feared that someone young who bought the car would kill themself with it, so instead of going this route, he sold the car to my father and I. We've owned the car for several years now and have driven it sparingly. We didn't build this car, don't really have a use for it, and want to have something that we can actually take credit for. Almost everything on this car has been modified. The ODO reads 50,000, but the car only has around 2,500 miles on it since the rebuild. This car is a monster, generating 435 horsepower with a mild tune. With the Accell EFI tuned right, this car has the potential to make close to 500 horsepower. The interior is ALL ORIGINAL, and although not perfect, it is still great for being 31 years old.
The engine mods consist of a 1979 Balanced & Blueprinted 4 Bolt Main Chevy 350 bored .030" Over With Internally Balanced 400 Crankshaft, Brodic Aluminum Street 1 Heads, APR Motor & Head Studs, 10.3 TRW Pistons With Gapless Moly Rings, Fel-Pro Gaskets, 1.5 Ratio Crane Roller Rockers, Ultradyne 288/296 HD Cam, Ratter Harmonic Damper, Accel DFI Streetram Fuel Injection & Ignition, Programable Calmap Software, High Volume Oil Pump, Moroso 7 Quart Oil Pan With Windage Tray, Adjustable True Roller Bearing Timing Chain With Roller Thrust Bearing, Roller Thrust Cam Button, Hooker Ceramic Coated Stainless Steel Headers, Custom 2 1/2" Exhaust With X-Pipe Connector Through Flowmasters, Energy Suspemsion Motor Mounts, Electric Fuel Pump, Twin Radiator Mounted Cooling Fans, GM Ministarter, and a Powermaster Polished Aluminum 100 Amp Alternator.
Drivetrain mods consist of a, Richmond 6-Speed Transmission, Lakewood Steel Bell-Housing With Adjustable Clutch Pivot, Hayes Pressure Plate, Flywheel, & Clutch, Roller Pilot Bearing, 3.36 Differential, and a VBP Heavy Duty Differential Cover & Crossmember.Reinforcement Kit.
Running gear mods consist of a Hydratech Hydraulic Brake Booster With Nitrogen Reserve, Steeroids Rack & Pinion Steering, VBP Transverse Composite Mono-Springs Front & Rear, VBP Custom Heavy-Duty Upper & Lower Control Arm, VBP Balanced Front & Rear Sway Bars & Gas Shocks, VBP Smart Struts, VBP Offset Trailing Arms, VBP Sport Rotors With Aluminum Hubs On Front, SSBC Aluminum Calipers Front & Rear, VBP Stainless Steel Parking Brake Components, Poly/Poly-Graphite Bushings, SS Braided Hoses, 17" Rallye Sport Aluminum Wheels, and BF Goodrich TA Radials (255s all around I believe).
The car has around $35,000 put into it, and comes with full documentation and software for the programmable EFI.
This is not a perfect car. There are a few minor cracks/deformities/rub marks in the paint. This is not a show car, but it is a car that you can take to a show, have some fun with, and win a best of show trophy like we did at Hooters, beating out some pretty nice cars in the process.
This car needs NOTHING!!! If you bought this car, you could put the key in the ignition and drive it home. |
