This was recently an extremely nice and still is an extremely rare car that has only seen neglect by its most recent owner, who purchased the car in early 2007 and put roughly 14,000 miles on it. This was for many years a very low mileage car (according to the Carfax) until the owner before that bought it in 2002. Nonetheless, the car carries a clean Carfax, what looks to be original paint (with the exception of the rear bumper), and could be very nice again with some TLC. This car currently shows 80,424 miles, which is still relatively low for a 1989 model year car. Keep in mind that this is a VERY rare car, as Dark Blue Metallic was only available for two years, with less than 4,000 cars that received the color from the factory in that two year period. Add that to the rare 6 speed manual (1 of 4,113), rare Electronic Selective Ride and Handling package (1 of 1,573), and rare leather sport seats (1 of 1,777) and you've got one very unique factory car that is sure to appreciate in years to come. Paint on this car shines well other than the commonly front bumper; the largest issue with this paint is that someone has decided to key most of the panels on the driver's side. Glass top is in very good to excellent condition with no cracks, de-lamination or other issues. Original window sweeps show common rotting and are mostly deteriorated; original weatherstripping is in good condition, completely intact and showing typical light cracking. Hatch seal shows typical corner breaks and is in fair condition. Correct wheels will be in good to very good condition at the time of purchase. This 1989 Corvette Z51 Coupe wears a set of radial tires, which show some dry-rotting on the tread, and 5/32nds treadwear remaining. The interior of this car shows very good condition factory leather seats with no rips or tears, very good condition door panels, center console, and dash pad, and a fair condition steering wheel. The factory Bose radio is long gone; an aftermarket unit will be in place at the time of sale. Although this car is very much complete otherwise, it is missing several vital parts of its electronic suspension system. Nonetheless, the car is still driveable, it is simply stuck in one of the adjustable driving modes. Air conditioning system has been retrofitted to R134a. If there ever was a factory 1989 Corvette that would be a good investment, it's this one -- this car showcases the rarest and most desirable options of the early (1984-90) C4, and is done depreciating at this point. Pick it up, fix it up, put it away and sell it for big bucks down the road, or drive as-is, either way call us soon because we WON'T be getting another one of these!
