Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this Red/Red 1980 Chevrolet Corvette. We have had the great opportunity to acquire this low mileage Corvette in excellent condition. The Corvette has just over 62,000 original miles, or 99,900 original kilometers. This particular car has an interesting history. What makes this car extra rare is the fact is was originally produced for export to Canada. I contacted GM Canada and their Vintage Vehicle Services department in reference to this car. I received back from them a packet containing details about this car's origin and history that will be included with the sale. This car was finished on November 21, 1979 in St. Louis. It was then exported to Canada and sold new at Aiken Motors Ltd. in Simcoe, Ontario. The letter from GM Canada shows that this car left the factory new with red paint and red leather interior. This is confirmed by the trim pad on car showing 83 for red paint and 722 for red leather interior. Red/Red is by far the most desirable color combination and the fact that this car is documented as an original red/red car is especially important. Another notable and desirable option is the FE7 Gymkhana Suspension. Only 5,020 Corvettes were imported to Canada in 1980, of those only 1,543 came with Gymkhana Suspension. Making this car particularly rare, out of the 5,020 export cars, only 593 came with red paint and an even smaller amount with red paint and interior.
Exterior
The Corvette’s paint is in great condition. The paint's finish has a nice gloss. There are no major scratches, scrapes, or other defects not pictured. The rubber bumpers are not faded or shrunken and they fit very well. All of exterior lights work as shown in the photos. This car has not been smoked in, there is no ash in the ashtray and no odor what so ever.
Interior
The interior on this Corvette is in excellent original condition. The seats in this vehicle show no excessive wear and look in person just as they do in the photos. Also, please note that the seats are original and not cheap aftermarket replacements that are so common on this vintage Corvette. The carpet shows well with no rips or tears and appears to be original. The console is excellent condition. The dash pad is not cracked, faded or sun damaged. All of the gauges work with the exception of the clock.
Mechanical
This car is in fine mechanical condition. The Corvette drives very well. It starts easily, idles well, and runs with no issues. The brakes are powerful and stop the car straight. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The car emits no smoke. The headlights go up and down as they should with both the headlight switch, and the headlight override vacuum switch This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. The smog equipment is still in place.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. I hand pick each car after careful inspection. The cars I sell come from owners who expect their Corvette to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
