1979 Black Corvette L82 Coupe

By ’79, Corvette was really hitting its stride in sales.  This would prove to be one of the highest production years in Corvette history, with 53,807 units sold!  But even with that many Vettes built, there were still some rare ones to be found.  And the example presented here is one of them!

The ’79 you have two engine choices.  The standard L48 195hp version or the optional L82 225hp version.  Our car is equipped with the L82.  But what makes it really rare is the 4-spd. manual transmission attached to it!  There were only a little over 4k 4-spds built across the board in ’79.  If you take into account the relatively small amount of L82’s built, then you end up with one rare ’79!

This one is rare for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the cars originality.  The paint, and interior are original, and it is believed the 32k miles showing on the odometer is accurate.  What makes it even more unusual is the fact that the original engine was replaced under factory warranty by Larry Barnes Chevrolet in Bosie ID. on 4/20/79.  We have the documentation to prove it, as well as the original window sticker, P.D.I. sheet, dealer correspondence and more.

The car is in excellent condition throughout and highly optioned!  In addition to the drivetrain, additional equipment includes:
