2002 Corvette for sale in Illinois - $35,000
Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is proud to offer for sale this awesome Electron Blue Metallic 2002 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This is no ordinary 2002 Corvette - it has graced the home page of the National Corvette Museum's website, as well as the cover of one of their quarterly magazines; plus, it was featured in a Corvette Enthusiast magazine in 2005. That's likely because it's so full of high-performance goodies and upgrades; but you've probably guessed that it's special "under the covers" by noticing the subtle bulge in the Motor City Molds supercharger hood. Under that custom hood lies a whole bunch of polished aluminum and chrome. Starting with a polished Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Magnusson supercharger (with intercooler), 21st Century Motorsports added an upgraded blower cam, custom valve springs and pushrods, polished fuel rails, Breathless Powerduct CAI, underdrive pulleys, heavy duty radiator, and performance tune, pushing the LS1 to nearly 100HP over stock flywheel (now 475HP/454TQ at the wheels). Additional enhancements to the underhood appearance include paint matched valve cover trim, Design Specialties chrome hood hinges and struts, and carbon-fiber applique on the underside of the hood. You'll also find more Design Specialties chrome goodies in the trunk as well (trunk latch, screws, shocks). When you slip into the pilot's seat and fire it up, you'll immediately notice and appreciate the raspy snarl that the Corsa Indy series exhaust belts out. Grab the Momo shift knob that's sitting atop the Hurst shifter-enhanced 6-speed manual trans, slip it into first, and head out for some spirited driving. You'll notice the extra clutch pedal effort, thanks to the addition of a Spec 2/3 hybrid clutch, which makes sure you're getting all that power to the ground. A set of nearly new Goodyear Eagle F1 high-performance radial tires (275/30R19 in front and 295/35ZR19 out back) wrap the custom CCW aluminum wheels and keep the car glued to the road, and the new Bilstein Sport shocks keep things properly damped, further enhancing control. If you get a little ahead of yourself and need to get back to legal speeds in a hurry, the Baer Eradispeed slotted/drilled rotors provide instant, fade-free stops when you clamp the binders on them. When you're not hustling over the asphalt, you'll certainly appreciate that the CAGS Delete that was applied during the tune - now you don't have to deal with the computer-aided gear selection that forces upshifts from 1st to 4th when you're driving at a more mundane pace. Regardless of how you're driving, the Heads-Up Display is sure to enhance your driving experience, enabling you to keep your eyes on what's going on ahead without having to glance down at your gauges (although you may occasionally want to look at the A-pillar-mounted boost gauge if you're really hammering it). However, when you do the old fashioned "gauge check", you'll love the custom white-faced gauges, which are much more readable (and attractive) than the original equipment. Speaking of attractive, the flush-mount Euro-style taillights look much better than the stock lighting; and they, along with the center brake light flasher kit, can certainly help you avoid getting rear-ended by folks behind you, because they significantly improve their ability to see you signaling lane changes and when you're braking. The hi-powered PIAA fog lamps up front will help YOU see better when visibility is sketchy ahead. Inside amenities and enhancements include the necessary Lingenfelter Performance Engineering floor mats (which will show your passengers that your car means business, in the event they didn't already look underhood or hear the car running yet), leather seating, and triple-chrome Mastukas Motorsports safety hoops behind the seats.
