Own a rare piece of automotive history. For sale is a 1961 Corvette Roadster which is the first year of the attractive “duck tail” rear end, and the last year that the two-tone paint could be ordered from the factory. Also, dual carburetor engines were available for the last time in 1961, and it was the last year for the 283 ci engine. Courtesy lights, windshield washers, sun shades, parking brake warning light, and temperature-controlled radiator fan all became standard in 1961. Additional standard equipment includes a tachometer, seat belts, dual exhaust system, carpeting, electric clock, driver’s side outside review mirror, lockable rear-seat storage area, and an aluminum radiator. This beautiful roadster is finished in the beautiful RPO 440 two-tone Honduras Maroon with White Cove, of which only 647 came from the factory with this color combination. The black interior features new seat foam and vinyl covers. Features include parking brake alarm, windshield washers, signal seeking AM radio, heater, courtesy lights, turn signals, whitewall tires. Buyavette is pleased to present one of the rarest and most recognizable cars ever built with this BODY-OFF RESTORED 1955 Corvette Convertible! Unlike the 1954 Corvette, of which 3,640 were produced, just 700 Corvettes were built for 1955, with obviously far fewer left today. While the '55 Corvettes look nearly identical to their predecessors from the outside, there's one big difference, and that's under the hood, as 1955 was the first year for a Corvette to feature a V8 engine. Originally assembled on September 7, 1955, this 1955 Corvette Convertible is in nice condition overall, and has had the SAME OWNER SINCE 1976. This owner spent quite a bit of time and money researching how to properly restore this car, and tons of research photos, diagrams, and a few books will accompany this Vette to its new owner. This '55 shows good-vg paint, with a great shine. Convertible top frame is not currently installed, and is likely going to need some restoration work before the new convertible top (also included) can be installed onto it. Original side plexiglass windows (not installed) are included as well. Exterior chrome and stainless are vg, as are the taillights and weatherstripping. Correct T3 headlights are also in place. Steel wheels are vg, and correct style hubcaps are vg-exc. Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall bias-ply tires show an average of 10/32nds tread depth remaining. The interior of this 1955 Corvette Convertible shows vg seats, door panels, steering wheel, and gauges, and a good condition dash pad. Floor covering is good-vg, and a correct appearing AM radio is in place. The Restoration Engine in this car shows correct casting number 3703524, and original casting date July 8, 1955. Correct air cleaner, ignition shielding, intake manifold, braided spark plug wires, chrome valve covers, radiator hoses and hose clamps, and generator are all in place, and the frame is clean, solid, and rust-free. Also included with this car will be a large box of spare parts, spare radio, and an old title for this car dated 1967. This is an extremely rare car, and a great one to consider for anyone looking for a early straight axle -- call us today to bring home this '55 Corvette! FREE 2 YEAR/50K ADDITIONAL MILE WARRANTY WHEN PURCHASED AT ADVERTISED PRICE, GOOD AT ANY REPAIR FACILITY NATIONWIDE!! Our Price: $114,999. Financing Available with long terms and low rates.
Red with Black interior: 327 CID V8 350HP / 3 Speed Manual - 20000 miles
This Frame-Off Restoration has been completed in Honduras Maroon/Black Interior. Currently a Show car that can be driven near anywhere, she was a Blue Plate California Car and has 140K Original Miles on the chassis, about 20,000 on the restoration. The 1961 Corvette featured here is a really nice specimen of a very original car. In 1992 the Previous owner decided to do a body-off restoration at around 120K miles. He took the car out to Jay Jorgensen, at Classic Corvette, Inc in Riverside, CA. (later known as California Street Design). The car body was removed from the frame and completely stripped. The solid original rust free frame (see photo's of restoration near the end of the pictures) was sand blasted to remove old paint and surface rust and was then powder coated. The cars paint was completely reconditioned along with all the chrome plating on the car. Body and Paint: Factory original bodies on Corvettes are nearly impossible to find these days. Take a look at the gaps all the way around the car and the bead around the rear end. Any body work was addressed during the restoration process and the work done was top notch. When the car was repainted it was stripped to the glass, primered, blocked judicially and painted. The paint work on this car is extremely high-caliber and was done by a discriminating shop that knew what they were doing. There is easily $15K-worth of high-end paint work on this automobile. There is no overspray anywhere to be found. The paint is flat and mirror-like and quite frankly is as good as it gets, with the exception of the small bubbling. All rubber and window felt appear to be like new and was replaced at the time of restoration. The front windshield was replaced during the restoration and the two side windows are original to the car. We don't believe this engine has ever been apart and runs out as nicely as I have ever seen on a 327-350hp Vette engine. It idles smooth and does not smoke. The Exhaust System is all brand new. The front-end was completely rebuilt and drives down the road straight as an arrow with no shakes, shimmy's or rattles of any kind. At that time the lower ball joints were replaced, as well as tie-rod ends, installed new front and rear shocks. The brakes were completely rebuilt during the restoration. It stops with authority. The Hurst Three-Speed Manual shifts smoothly and the owner states it was in the car when he bought it. The Undercarriage is completely rust-free and in very tidy condition. It was stripped and powder coated front and rear during the restoration. Interior: The Interior is a solid 8 out of 10 condition. The carpets were replaced during the restoration. The door panels look original to me and in very nice driver condition. The dash was replaced during the resto. The convertible top was replaced during the restoration and has basically been down in the hole every since. The interior door sills are original to the car, but add to the overall nice look of this rare vehicle. A Rare Original style Honduras Maroon Corvette in exceptionally nice above average driver condition. This is a great way to own a wonderful old Corvette.

Black with Black interior: 327 / T-10 4speed - Exempt miles
Up for sale is my 1962 Corvette 327/300 NOM, 4speed, with two tops. It was purchased by me in 1975 with no drive line and in rough shape but only had 55,000 real miles on it, at that time. The original Honduras Maroon paint was still on most of the body, the black interior was shot but, the frame was very good. A 4 year, body off restoration was done, by me and I changed the color to Tuxedo Black. It was featured in Vette Vues Magazine in July 1981 and won many shows. It was then sold later in 1981. It went through 3 other owners and was repurchased by me in 2011, 30 years after I sold it. It underwent another full, 3 year, body-off restoration, again by me, that was started in 2013 and completed in 2016. Because there was no drive train way back in the beginning of my first ownership, this car could never be ORIGINAL again but, it is very STOCK and it is not a resto-mod or Hot Rod in any way. Not being interested in showing it this time, I hand built it the best I could, to represent what a 1962 Corvette would have looked like when it was new, down to the color of the return spring on the accelerator. The under side of this car is as clean and detailed as up on top. The chrome was done to perfection by Librandi's in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It has been kept in my very small collection in a dedicated, temperature controlled garage. No one on earth knows more about this particular Corvette than me, having had it completely apart down to a bare, rock solid frame twice. Every nut, bolt and screw that make up this car, has been passed through my hands before re-assembling. There is no way one could have a '62 Corvette restored to this level today, for what I'm asking for this one. Take the time to think about that. This was my last restoration of many over 49 years in this hobby. I'm retired and don't need to have this many cars to care for anymore. So, it's time for a new caretaker for this gorgeous automobile. So you have something to compare it to, do both of us a favor and go look at every other '62 Corvette you might be interested in then, look at this one--LAST! I'm the only one that can answer any question you can come up with about this car, just contact me at 610-779-8442. Thank you.
